8/22 Liturgical Musical Symposium set for Atlanta

The Catholic Archdiocese of Atlanta announces that the 2009 Southeastern Liturgical Musical Symposium will be held in Atlanta on August 22. The keynote address will be given by Atlanta Archbishop Wilton Daniel Gregory, who holds a doctorate in liturgy and is a current member of the U.S. Catholic Bishops' Committee on Divine Worship.
Breakout sessions with nationally renowned facilitators will include: David Haas on “Music Ministry and the Liturgical Year”, Dr. Kevin Johnson on “African American Sacred Music: a Universal Approach”, Lee Gwodz, with a presentation entitled, "Sing! From Child to Adult", and Jeffrey Tucker: "Sing Like a Catholic”.
Advance registration is $55, which includes lunch, with group discounts available.
