Counseling a grieving mother: Fr John Johnson
God has blessed me wonderfully in my 90 years, allowing me to know holy and dedicated priests, such as Monsignor John Cuddy, Father Louis Wheeler, Father Mike Ingram, Father Allan McDonald, Father Justin Ferguson, Father Brett Brannen, Father Tim McKeown, Father Tim Donahue and Father Eric Filmer.
I would like to take this opportunity however, to give special acknowledgement to Father John Johnson, whom I got to know intimately as a seminarian and who has since been ordained.
Through Father John's deep holiness and wisdom, I have come to terms with the death of my son. He brought me through what seemed like a dark tunnel - into the light of Jesus! He gave me specific spiritual exercises to accomplish that continue to this day, helping me achieve spiritual goals.
Not only has his loving counseling been a source of immense blessing, I am struck that even though he is now in Washington D.C., continuing his studies and pastoral work, he continues to keep in touch with me although he has very little free time. Such loving kindness!
With Father John's help and care, I am being prepared for the day when I will be called Home. The day when I am with Jesus, face-to-face and when our dear Lord can look upon me and clearly see the wonderful help Father John has been to this poor soul.
Thanks be to God for all His holy priests - and especially for Father John Johnson!
