For the purposes of other Vietnamese parishes abroad, in 1999 the parish of Saint Peter and Paul was instituted by Bishop Kevin Boland at the Nativity of Our Lord Church with the following missions:

Maintain and promote the traditional Catholic ethos of Vietnamese people in the city of Savannah and surrounding areas.

Interpret youths who are born or raised in the United States to know the application of the faith received from parents in the Vietnamese language and culture to everyday life.

The Vietnamese Catholic community in Savannah co-operated with American friends who had built up and long been associated with the parish to maintain and develop the parish of St. Peter and Paul in the church of Nativity of Our Lord.
