Lead Teacher | Early Learning Center, St. James Catholic Church

The Early Learning Center (ELC) at St. James Catholic Church is recruiting for a Lead Twos Teacher. The position is Monday though Friday from 7AM – 3PM. The class enrolls 14 two-year-old children on a daily basis.

This position oversees the day-to-day activities of the classroom, while working with a classroom assistant, to ensure that local, state and federal child care requirements are met. Responsibilities include supervision, safety, lesson planning, communication with parents, developmentally appropriate practice, diaper changing, and potty training.

The position requires a degree in Early Childcare and/or Child Development, or a Child Development Associate (CDA) certification and appropriate Georgia licensure. Candidates must 21+ years old and be fingerprinted and have a clear background. VIRTUS, First Aid & CPR certification, Fire Safety Training and 10 hours per year of Bright from the Start training are also required. We are looking for passionate early childhood educators, who are knowledgeable of child care laws, and have experience leading a toddler classroom. You will need to have good organizational skills, be an effective communicator, use appropriate methods for resolving conflicts with children, and be able to problem solve effectively.

This is a full-time, 12 month a year position reporting to the Director of St. James Early Learning Center with a $12.00 hourly wage and benefit package.
